STEVE JOBS GOT IT RIGHT

January 02, 2012

The fascinating biography of Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson, former editor of Time, is chalk full of great insights from the “intersection of art and technology”, an intersection that Jobs understood better than anyone else in the technology industry and why Apple became the highest net worth company in America.

He often acted like a tempestuous four-year-old, which, as an adult means he was an asshole. But his commitment and unwavering perfectionism on behalf of the customer experience resulted in end-to-end technology that anyone can use. He didn’t care about the money, though he made billions at Pixar and Apple. Instead, he put following your heart, your passion above all else.

“Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it.”
