Like many community foundations, The Burlington Foundation faced the challenge of combating donor fatigue, and engaging a new generation of emerging philanthropists. Top of their mind is needing to trust that their giving will have a positive long-term impact in their communities. This is set against what is becoming one of the biggest transfers of family wealth in generations.
We helped realign the strategic vision and direction of the organization and then undertook the rebranding and repositioning of the foundation from the ground up.
We worked in deep collaboration with the foundation’s board and community stakeholders, conducting discovery sessions and alignment on the new brand’s UVP. With this in place we embarked on the brand story creation, renaming, identity system, collateral, digital presence and an advertising campaign.
Our strategic process has helped re-energized both the current personal and corporate donor base, as well as the community at large. Several new large gifts have been secured and the Foundation is well on its way to achieving its 3-5 year goals.
